Youth Engagement Worker (Permanent Staff)

Primary Objective:

The YFC New Brunswick Youth Engagement worker’s primary objective is to engage and equip youth to know and follow Jesus. 

Responsibilities:

SPIRITUAL AND PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT (10%)



  1. Is a faithful and contributing member of a local church.
  2. Pray for and with YFC Canada Team.
  3. Spend time in spiritual reflection and development.
  4. Take an annual spiritual retreat for spiritual and mental health.
  5. Completion of the YFC Canada Credentialing process within 2 years of start date.
  6. Attend YFC Regional and National conferences.
  7. Participate in training and development courses, conferences and workshops as approved by supervisor.

DIRECT MINISTRY (40%)



  1. Survey the needs of youth in the community and seek ways to meet them.
  2. Plan and facilitate programs and faith-based activities for youth.
  3. Work in partnership with area Youth Workers, Youth Ministries, and other like-minded partners to reach our evangelism and outreach goals, including challenging and equipping Christian youth to reach out to their peers.
  4. Connect and network with principals, teachers, and resource agencies in the area.

PROGRAMS/VOLUNTEERS (20%)



  1. Engage and build relationships with youth in the community through School ministries, one-on-ones, mentoring, and special events.
  2. Assist with the operations of the North Moncton Middle School Drop In.
  3. Be actively working to create and maintain partnerships with local schools in Moncton.
  4. Invest in the health and resiliency of the faith journeys of youth through the sharing of the gospel.

ORGANIZATION / ADMINISTRATIVE (20%)



  1. Meet regularly virtually or in-person with their supervisor.
  2. Keep records of Ministry activities and events.
  3. Attend monthly YFC Canada staff calls.
  4. Help create and maintain social media content.

PERSONAL PARTNER DEVELOPMENT (10%)



  1. Personal partnership development – which includes securing and maintaining a sound base of financial & prayer partners to a level sufficient to fund the salary and immediate costs of this position.
  2. Establish a Ministry Partner Development Plan and keep regular contact with ministry partners through a news/prayer letter, visits, phone calls, etc.
