POSITION TITLE: Western Canada Engagement Specialist
POSITION TYPE: Part-time, 8 hours/week
REPORTS TO: Events Director, Change Conference
Role Description:
Youth for Christ Canada exists to see "every young person living fully in Christ." At Change Conference, a ministry of YFC Canada, our vision is for every youth in Canada to hear, respond to and live out the message of Jesus in their lives. Change Conference currently serves every province and territory in Canada and engages over 15,000 youth and youth leaders.
The Western Canada Engagement Specialist will assist with the coordination, communication, and administration of the Change Conference Events (4 in-person and 1 online). The main function of this role is to connect and build strong relationships with local churches and youth leaders. This role will communicate with youth leaders and churches and will be responsible for maintaining a high level of customer service and people skills in all relationships. They will have excellent organizational and time-management skills, along with exceptional written and verbal communication skills. The Western Canada Engagement Specialist will be both dependable in completing tasks and flexible in adapting to change.
Responsibilities:
SPIRITUAL AND PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT (5%)
- Is a faithful and contributing member of a local church.
- Prays for and with the YFC Canada Team.
- Spends time in spiritual reflection and development.
- Attends YFC Regional and National conferences as requested by the supervisor.
- Participate in training and development courses, as approved by the supervisor.
ASSIST WITH EVENTS (30%)
- Assist with aspects of programming for all in-person Change Conferences.
- Assist the team with post-event wrap-up: thank-yous, event debrief, and communications.
- Provide support to the Events Director and the National Programs Manager in operations and creative elements as needed.
LOCAL ENGAGEMENT AND YEAR-ROUND TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES (55%)
- Engage with youth leaders throughout the year to encourage them and build stronger lines of communication.
- Provide support in marketing, communications, and customer service as needed.
- Assist with phone calling and correspondence for the event communications campaign.
- Provide ongoing administrative support in record-keeping and management of contracts and internal documents.
- Investigate and attend local events and conferences on behalf of Change Conf.
- Contribute to the Change Conference Community updates through Facebook and email
- Arrange and attend in-person partnership meetings for individual support raising and the general Change Conference ministry.
- Coordinate with the team; pick up and drop off all materials (foodstuffs, equipment, and office supplies, etc.). Be present for all filming, production, and set-up days. Attend at least 3 events on behalf of Change Conference annually.
- Participate in monthly team meetings and weekly one-on-one meetings.
- Oversee storage units in Alberta and British Columbia, ensuring they are consistently organized, secure, and accessible.
- Responsible for ensuring all necessary items from the storage unit are packed, transported, and accounted for at each Western Change Conference event.
- Maintain a clear inventory system for all stored items, including signage, supplies, merchandise, tech gear, and event materials.
- Receive incoming shipments, confirming contents and storing items in their appropriate locations within the storage unit. Assist the Event Director in confirming that all expected packages have arrived at the storage units and are accounted for.
- Prepare and pack items from the storage unit for transport to event venues and assist in their return post-event. Ensure all items are properly packed up, returned, and organized in the storage unit after each event.
- Attend at least 10 coffee meetings with local leaders on behalf of Change Conference, annually. Providing support, mentorship and prayer as needed.
- Attend at least three events on behalf of Change Conference annually.
- Attend all in-person Change Conference events annually.
- Other responsibilities as assigned.
PARTNER DEVELOPMENT (10%)
- Partnership Development – which includes securing and maintaining a sound base of financial & prayer partners to a level sufficient to fund the salary and immediate costs of this position
- Build a base of prayer partners and keep them updated through regular communication and prayer requests. Encourage prayer partners to pray for youth in Canada and globally.
- Contribute to the overall fundraising for Change Conference – sponsors, businesses, individual supporters, etc.
- Participate in the Change Conference annual fundraising week and help contribute to the Change Conference Development account.

Compensation
$20.00 - $25.00 per hour
