Associate Director - Honeymoon Bay Retreat

Description

Honeymoon Bay Lodge & Retreat is a ministry of Youth for Christ Canada and is in the rural setting of Lake Cowichan District on Vancouver Island.
The Associate Director position will focus on providing quality Christian leadership while assisting the Executive Director to manage Honeymoon Bay Lodge and Retreat.

SPIRITUAL AND PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT
  • Is a faithful and contributing member of a local church.
  • Pray for and with YFC Canada Team.
  • Spend time in spiritual reflection and development.
  •  Take bi-annual spiritual retreat at Honeymoon Bay Retreat Centre.
  • Completion of the YFC Canada Credentialing process within 2 years of start date.
  • Attend YFC Regional and National conferences.
  • Participate in training and development courses, conferences and workshops as approved by supervisor.
 
HOSPITALITY
  • A commitment to having patrons at Honeymoon Bay Retreat receive personal care in all aspects of guest services.
  • Provide oversight to guest services, housekeeping and food services.
 
MARKETING
  • Have good personal communication skills.
  • Be a part of creating a strategic marketing plan that will focus on specific facilitators of desired organizations that align with the mission of Honeymoon Bay Lodge and Retreat. (i.e. church conference leaders, church pastors, and other Christian organizations.)
  • Perform regular assessments of marketing activities to ensure efficient use of funds and personnel.
  • Oversee print, Internet, social, website, direct and other marketing endeavours.
 
MANAGEMENT
  • Must have good management of operations such in areas as budgeting, staff care, understanding of fiscal activities and overall general business sense.
  • Assist the Executive Director in multiple areas of management. Including but not limited to managing staff; front desk operations; employee, customer and public relations; coordinating special events.
  • Plan and develop systems and procedures to improve operating quality and efficiency.
 
 CARE GIVING
  • Provide Counselling or Spiritual Direction or Life Coaching to provide patrons of Honeymoon Bay Retreat with empathetic consultation.
  • Work with the YFC resiliency team.
 
SUPERVISING STAFF
  • Providing counsel and guidance to others based upon Christian values and teachings.
  • Mentoring and encouraging others in personal Christian understanding, values, character and lifestyle.
 
PARTNER DEVELOPMENT
  • Personal partnership development – which includes securing and maintaining a sound base of financial & prayer partners to a level sufficient to fund the salary and immediate costs of this position. 
  • Gathering financial and prayer support from the Christian community
  • Build a base of prayer partners and keep them updated through regular communications and prayer request. Encourage prayer partners to pray for youth in Canada and globally.
 
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:
The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and with minimum supervision. Has strong analytical and critical thinking skills and demonstrated success in building and maintaining relationships. Preference will be given to candidates with the following skills/attributes:
  • Hospitality
  • Counselling, Spiritual Direction or Life Coaching
  • A servant heart with empathy for others
  • A desire to see people have longevity in ministry (i.e. become healthy and resilient staff)
  • Leadership experience
  • Marketing experience
  • Computer Skills

Compensation

$55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
