Are you passionate about serving today's youth? Do you desire to use your skills in relationship building and program facilitation? The Peace Country Youth Engagement worker’s primary objective is to assist the Affiliate Director in meeting the needs of the youth in the communities of Peace Country by helping to run relevant programs and inviting others into the journey through partnership. This position will provide support for youth, families, schools and communities.

This full-time position reports to the Peace Country Affiliate Director.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Spiritual and Personal Development
  1. Is a faithful and contributing member of a local church.
  2. Pray for and with YFC Canada Team.
  3. Spend time in spiritual reflection and development.
  4. Take a bi-annual spiritual retreat at Honeymoon Bay Retreat Centre.
  5. Completion of the YFC Canada Credentialing process within 2 years of start date.
  6. Attend YFC Regional and National conferences.
  7. Participate in training and development courses, conferences and workshops as approved by supervisor.

DIRECT MINISTRY
  1. Survey the needs of youth in the community and seek ways to meet them.
  2. Planning and facilitating programs and faith based activities for youth.
  3. Work in partnership with area Youth Workers, Youth Ministries, and other like-minded partners to reach our evangelism and outreach goals, including challenging and equipping Christian youth to reach out to their peers.
  4. Connect with and strive to network with principals, teachers, and resource agencies in the area whenever possible.

PROGRAMS/VOLUNTEERS
  1. Engage and build relationships with youth in the community through School ministries, one-on-ones, mentoring and special events.
  2. Assist with the operations of Room 27 Youth Centre.
  3. Be actively working to create and maintain partnerships with local schools in the Peace Country.
  4. Invest in the health and resiliency of youth through the sharing of the gospel.

ORGANIZATION/ADMINISTRATIVE
  1. Meet regularly (Skype Call, Face to face) with their supervisor.
  2. Keep records of Ministry activities and events.
  3. Attend monthly YFC Canada staff calls.
  4. Help create and maintain social media content.

PERSONAL PARTNER DEVELOPMENT
  1. Personal partnership development - which includes securing and maintaining a sound base of financial & prayer partners to a level sufficient to fund the salary and immediate costs of this position.
  2. Establish a Ministry Partner Development Plan and keeping regular contact with ministry partners through a news/prayer letter, visits, phone calls, etc.
